In other news Gen McChrystal, former Commander of Afghanistan has been “encouraged” to resign his post. Not sure what to make of it, from the comments I’ve seen from the Rolling Stone article I don’t that it was totally necessary for him to have to resign, especially in light of his positive resources in that theater. He’s from a Special Ops background and extremely qualified to command and coordinate Special Ops missions (where are very vital and indispensable in this particular conflict) and has build up invaluable relationships and rapport with the local and national leaders of Afghanistan. The new commander will have to build that rapport which will take time. And I’m not sure time was something we had to spare. (The whole situation HAS given me a great idea for a web comic series, though.)
